The Atlanta Legal Aid Society has
represented Atlanta's poor in civil legal cases since 1924. Our work helps
our clients deal with some of life's most basic needs -- a safe home,
enough food to eat, a decent education, protection against fraud, and
personal safety. Our clients come from Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and
Gwinnett Counties in Georgia. For

Directions:
From I-285 on the North Side
Take Exit 39-A onto US-78, heading west toward Atlanta and Decatur. At fork in road, bear Left to stay on US-78 (not North Druid Hills Road). Stay on this road, as it changes name from Stone Mountain Freeway to Lawrenceville Highway to Scott Boulevard, for a total of about 2 miles. Go past DeKalb Industrial Way and turn Left at the next light, onto Church Street. Take Church Street to downtown Decatur (about 2 miles). Go past Ponce de Leon Avenue, and turn Left at the next light, onto Sycamore Street. Our office is on the Left, near the end of the block.
From I-285 or I-20 on the South Side
Take Exit 48 from I-285, or Exit 65 from I-20 to Flat Shoals/Candler Road (SR 155) and head north. Stay on Candler Road to downtown Decatur. (From I-285 it's about 5 miles, and from I-20 it's about 4 miles.) Cross the railroad tracks and bear Left onto Trinity. Go 1 block and turn Right onto Church Street. Go 1 block and turn Right onto Sycamore Street. The office is on the Left, near the end of the block.
From I-85
Take Exit 91 to Clairmont Road (US 23, SR 155) and head south. Stay on Clairmont for about 5 miles, until it dead-ends at Ponce de Leon. Turn Left on Ponce. Go 1 block to Church Street, and turn Right. Go 1 block to Sycamore Street and turn Left. Our office is on the Left, near the end of the block.
From I-75
Take Exit 248-C (Carter Center) and get on the Freedom Parkway. Go through the light at Boulevard. When you come to a fork in the road (near Carter Center), bear Right. Go to the end of the Parkway, and turn Left on Moreland Avenue. Go 3 blocks and turn Right on Ponce de Leon Avenue. Go about 3 miles to downtown Decatur. Go past Clairemont Avenue and turn Right at the next light, onto Church Street. Go 1 block and turn Left onto Sycamore Street. The office is on the Left, near the end of the block.
On MARTA
Take the East/West line MARTA train to the Decatur station. Exit the station on the Church Street side. As you come out of the station, continue straight ahead (east) and cross Church Street onto Sycamore Street. The office is in the first block of Sycamore Street after you cross Church Street. It will be on your left, near the end of the block.
