Many of these forms (benefit applications and petitions) require the payment of a fee in order for BCIS to process (adjudicate) your requests. Some also require applicants to pay an additional and separate fee for fingerprinting. This section will provide you with information on fees and fingerprint requirements. Refugee cash and medical assistance is administered through county DFCS offices. The health screening is provided through county health departments. The Georgia Food Stamp program provides monthly benefits to low-income households to help pay for the cost of food. A household may be one person living alone, a family, or several, unrelated individuals living together who routinely purchase and prepare meals together. Anyone may apply for food stamp benefits. The program helps households that have limited income and resources. This web site contains information about applying for benefits and to find out about eligibility requirements.

When you have been denied Medicaid or had your Medicaid Benefits lowered or terminated, you can ask for a fair hearing. You can fill out a fair hearing request letter and mail it or deliver it to your local Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) office to begin the process. When DFCS gets your letter asking for a fair hearing, they use this form to process your appeal with the Office of State Administrative Hearings (OSAH). You can give DFCS this form and ask them to fill it out and send it to OSAH and to the Department of Human Resources Legal Services to process your appeal.
