The Georgia Senior Legal Hotline is a service intended to increase access to legal advice and assistance for older Georgians, particularly those who are socially or economically needy. The Hotline welcomes calls from older Georgians, family members and service providers who need legal advice or assistance. The Hotline responds to the more than 80% of cases where legal advice or brief service will solve a problem. Not only does the Hotline increase access to the legal system; it also allows other legal service providers to concentrate on more complex cases thereby expanding valuable resources. Launched in May 1998, the Georgia Senior Legal Hotline provides legal advice, brief service and lawyer referrals.
The Georgia Senior Legal Hotline is a project of Atlanta Legal Aid Society in cooperation with the Georgia Division of Aging Services and the Georgia Legal Services Program.
The mission of the Georgia Senior Legal Hotline is to provide brief, accurate legal advice and referrals to economically and socially vulnerable older Georgians and their families. Our goals are to increase access to legal services and to aid seniors in remaining self-sufficient.
