Presque toutes les personnes qui vivent aux États-Unis sont concernées par le système de la Sécurité sociale –que ce soit parce qu’elles travaillent et paient des cotisations ou qu’elles perçoivent des allocations de la Sécurité sociale. Les allocations de la Sécurité sociale sont versées aux travailleurs et à leurs familles lorsqu’un travailleur prend sa retraite ou devient handicapé. Les allocations aux survivants peuvent être versées, sous
certaines conditions, aux membres de la famille après le décès d’un travailleur. Ce bulletin d’information présente les allocation retraite et les prestations aux survivants.
